Likeness Stacks and your data
I firmly believe in privacy and in the principle that your data is your data. This is how your data are used.
A) Identifiable data
What do I store and how do I store it?
When you first open Likeness Stacks, the game signs you in anonymously using Firebase Authentication. That anonymous account is a random token with no identifying information about you — I cannot tell who you are by looking at it.
Stored against that token, on a Google Firestore server, are:
- your current level in the progression,
- your coin balance (the piggy bank),
- whether your account owns the level unlock,
- your results on the daily and all-time leaderboards, under a made-up name (see Leaderboards below), and
- a snapshot of your in-progress game, so you can pick up the same deal on another device.
That is the complete list. Everything else about your play stays on your device.
If you link an account
You can optionally link your anonymous progress to Sign in with Apple so your progress follows you across devices. If you do, Apple shares your account email (or, if you choose Hide My Email, a private relay address) with the game's Firebase Authentication service. I use it only to recognize your account when you sign in on another device. I never use it for marketing, never share it, and never sell it.
If you never link an account, no email address or name is ever collected.
What do I do with your data?
I treat it with respect. Apart from what is needed to run or support Likeness Stacks, I will never share your personal data with a third party and I will never sell your personal data.
If you contact support by email, your email address and our conversation are stored on my own helpdesk, which runs on Google's Firebase platform inside my project. No third-party helpdesk company is involved.
Data captured to improve Likeness Stacks
I use an analytics service called Firebase Analytics. It records which features are being used — levels started, moves made, wins and losses, settings toggled — as aggregated technical events. There is no personal identifying information collected through analytics. I use these data to understand how the game is being played and where to focus development effort.
Likeness Stacks contains no crash-reporting SDK and no advertising SDK.
Advertising and tracking
There is none.
- Likeness Stacks shows no advertisements.
- It does not track you across apps or websites, does not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), and therefore never shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- Device identifiers and analytics data are not linked to your name or email address, and I do not build user profiles.
Leaderboards
The daily challenge and the all-time leaderboard show every player under a made-up name — something like "Amber Otter 12" — built from fixed, family-safe word lists. You can pick your own combination from those lists in the game; you can never type a free-form name, and your real name, email address, and account ID are never shown to other players. A board row contains only that made-up name and game numbers (score, time, moves, or level), and boards are visible only to signed-in players of the game. Asking me to delete your data (below) removes your leaderboard entries too.
Purchases
Likeness Stacks offers one optional purchase: a one-time unlock that opens every level. It is bought through Apple's App Store, and payment is handled entirely by Apple — the game never sees your payment information. Whether your account owns the unlock is stored with your progress so it follows you across devices.
The coins in Likeness Stacks are still earned by playing and only spent inside the game. They can never be bought with real money.
Refunds
Refunds are requested from Apple (Settings → Purchases → Request a Refund in the game, or through Apple directly), and Apple alone decides them. When you request a refund, Apple may ask me how much of the purchased content you have already used. If that happens, I answer with a single percentage — how many levels you have played beyond the free ones — and nothing else: no name, no email, no identifier, and no purchase history travels with it. By requesting a refund through Apple, you consent to Apple receiving this figure to process your request. If you would rather I send Apple nothing at all, email likenessstacks@help.liveflatout.com and I will turn that off for your account.
Your rights: access and deletion
You can delete your account yourself, instantly: in the game, Settings → Account → Delete Account removes your progress, coins, saved game, and leaderboard entries everywhere, along with the account itself. (A purchased unlock stays with your Apple ID.)
You can also ask me at any time to delete the data tied to your account (your level, coins, saved game, leaderboard entries, and — if you linked an account — the email on file), or to send you a copy of it.
Contact me at likenessstacks@help.liveflatout.com and I will action your request within 30 days, as required by UK/EU GDPR Articles 12(3) and 15. Your data live in Google Cloud Firestore inside my project, hosted in the United States; Google's standard contractual clauses apply to any EU/UK to US transfer.
Summary
Likeness Stacks is designed to respect your privacy.
- You play anonymously unless you choose to link an account.
- Only your level, coin balance, unlock status, in-progress game, and leaderboard results (under a made-up name) are stored in the cloud — so your progress can follow you.
- Analytics data are technical and non-identifying.
- No ads, no tracking, no crash reporter. The one optional purchase — the level unlock — is handled entirely by Apple.
